The subject of production development uses advanced experimental and theoretical methods. The research is mostly conducted in international projects, in close collaboration with the engineering industry. The group offers an inspiring collaborative environment and strives for a well-balanced composition between women and men, with a Swedish and international background. The subject is part of the department for product and production development, which also includes the subject of machine construction. The subject is growing steadily and has a short- and long-term need to expand its technical and pedagogical competence in production. Subject description Production development includes both individual processes and techniques for manufacturing, as well as the design of entire systems for industrial production. An important area is laser processing. Job duties As the most important information: - Teaching in production, as examiner and teacher, especially in the areas of production management, factory flow simulation, automation and manufacturing methods, which also includes laboratory exercises and student projects in collaboration with industry. - Further development of education programs and offerings in production at Luleå University of Technology (LTU). - Develop and implement training efforts for professionals. In addition - Management and implementation of research projects - Development of applications for external funding of research projects - Supervision of doctoral students - Leadership and networking. Career opportunities: Qualify as a researcher in laser manufacturing, especially additive manufacturing (no prior knowledge required), with the perspective of qualifying as an assistant professor and professor. Qualification opportunities also include taking a leading role in further developing education in production at LTU, for the needs of the future. Competence Eligible to be employed as a university lecturer is someone who: • Graduated with a doctorate or have equivalent scientific competence • Demonstrated pedagogical skill • Completion of higher education education corresponding to 7.5 ECTS credits or alternatively acquired equivalent knowledge in another way Basis of assessment The following assessment criteria are applied for the position: • Scientific skill • Pedagogical skill • Other assessment grounds Other assessment grounds (weighted according to ranking order below): • Broader education and background in production, especially for the engineering industry • Deeper specialization in a production-related area • Good ability to express oneself in Swedish and English in speech and writing. • Skill and the ability to learn different tasks and roles Information The position is a full-time permanent position located in Luleå.
