WORK TASKS In the role, you will work with your two colleagues at Hertsön's library as a librarian or library educator with the libraries' basic assignments around reading promotion, democracy and digital participation. The reading promotion work takes place through the meeting with visitors and through physical / digital activities and programs. You work to meet both groups and individuals in the library and work outward to build up a good knowledge of the local community and work for collaboration between residents, associations and other local actors. This role has a focus on adults, but in your work you will meet all target groups and ages. At Hertsön's library, the team agrees together on who is responsible for various administrative tasks such as: scheduling, media planning, purchasing, invoice management, error reporting and business follow-up. The Hertsön area is undergoing a major transformation and the library will move to newly built premises in 2026. Together with colleagues and the manager, you will be very much involved in the move and design of the new premises. As an employee at Hertsön's library, you are part of, in addition to the small team at Hertsön, also in the large organization Libraries in Luleå, a workplace with about 46 colleagues where collaboration and cooperation are important and take place in various constellations and forums. The libraries in Luleå consist of the city library in Kulturens hus, five smaller unit libraries (Råneå, Gammelstad, Björkskatan, Porsön, Hertsön) and 2 bookmobiles. You work primarily at Hertsön's library, but weekend and summer service occurs at other library units. QUALIFICATIONS Basic requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Library and Information Science or other degree deemed equivalent by the employer. - Fluency in Swedish, both spoken and written - Be able to navigate and work in various digital systems, apps and digital tools. Meritorious: - Experience of working in a public library - Knowledge of literature and experience in promoting reading. - Language skills beyond Swedish and English As a person, we would like to see that you are social, easy and enjoy creating relationships in meetings with citizens and colleagues.
