Nammo is an international aerospace and defense company, and one of the world's leading manufacturers of special ammunition and rocket motors. Our development environment consists of 200 skilled engineers.
New products are developed using high-level analysis, advanced material technology, complex and innovative design solutions and modern production methods. The analysis department in our development environment constitutes a strong professional environment with over 20 analysis engineers covering several disciplines. We are a young environment with good professional support from experienced engineers and a focus on professional development. The department is now looking for several committed development engineers who will follow the products closely from concept phase to qualified product. As a development engineer, you will influence design choices and be involved in testing.
Ballistic analysis: The field of internal ballistics for rocket engines is about designing solid rocket motors based on propellant properties and nozzle technology so that the engine provides the right pressure and thrust. We are looking for candidates with a background in Propulsion or Aerospace Engineering, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics or general physics/mechanics or similar.
Thermal analysis: Our products are subjected to large thermal loads with high temperatures that affect materials and product function. Thermal loads produce structural effects, which are important to map in connection with design choices and function. We mainly use the numerical tool Comsol, but also Abaqus for analysis. We are looking for candidates with a background in heat transport, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, general physics/mechanics or similar.
Tasks and responsibilities:
You participate in a development team where you are responsible within your field of expertise. You support our projects in relation to customers and/or research institutes by defining and performing relevant analyses, and communicating the results back to the project group and customer. Development projects at Nammo are often partly research-based, which means that cutting-edge technology is developed. As a development engineer with us, you work in a team and gain good insight into the other technical disciplines. You will gain a good overall understanding of our leading technology and product development processes.
Qualifications
MSc or PhD in relevant fields. Candidates with BSc with relevant technical experience can also be considered.
