Nammo Raufoss is a company undergoing significant growth, and the R&D department is looking for more talented engineers to fill the role as systems engineer/technical responsible in our projects. In this position you will be the technical authority in one or more projects, and facilitate technical experts working together efficiently towards the same goal.

Nammo Raufoss is involved in several large space projects, one example is the European launcher family VEGA. For VEGA Nammo develops the next generation of Roll and Attitude Control System (RACS), based on green propellant (H2O2), including tank, thrusters, valves and tubing. We have operations in Norway, UK and Ireland for development and production of space propulsion systems as well as fluidic and mechanical components for in-space propulsion systems and launchers. 

We have a vacancy for a systems engineer to fill the role as System Responsible (Technical Responsible) in our development program for RACS. In the role you will have full technical authority for the project’s proposed solution and all associated documentation. You will bring together several internally developed components (thruster, tank, etc) into a full system, while respecting the ECCS and customer requirements as a system engineer working with dedicated designers, analysts, and test engineers in a post-PDR project.


Main responsibilities and tasks:

  • Be the technical authority on all technical aspects and have interdisciplinary overview
  • Prepare, review and present technical documentation to customers
  • Understand performance and system flow down requirements and their impact on propulsion system design 
  • Manage change proposals, deviations and customer feedback throughout the validation process
  • Ensure system validation through analysis and testing plans to verify and validate requirements
  • Work systematically with requirements and technical specifications and derive subsystem technical specifications
  • Follow the products through development, qualification and serial production
  • Work with customers and suppliers both in Norway and abroad 

 

Qualifications:

  • MSc or PhD within physics, chemistry, thermodynamics, mechanics, aerospace engineering, materials science, systems engineering or similar. BSc or other relevant technical background may be considered.
  • Experience from space projects development life-cycle and ESA (European Space Agency) review processes, documentation structure and standards is desired
  • Experience from development, manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing of engineered systems is a strong advantage
