Are you passionate about business acumen, purchasing and negotiation? Do you thrive in dynamic environments and have the ability to build strong relationships? We are now looking for a Senior Purchaser who will be a key player in NCC Industry's North region.

In the role of Senior Purchaser, you work closely with the business to capture needs at an early stage so that the purchasing department can ensure delivery, while working on continuous improvements to processes, routines and contract portfolio. The role means that you are the 'first point of contact' for relevant stakeholders in the region you operate in. Based on the needs of the business, you develop a purchasing plan that you deliver on together with colleagues in the purchasing organization.

Main responsibilities  

  • Ensure that we contribute to the best possible value for our end customer, and that we actively switch to a more sustainable business.
  • Implement and update the purchasing plan within your area of responsibility.
  • 'First point of contact' for NCC's production sites and other relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the use and implementation of category strategy, and work proactively with
    • local needs analysis
    • risk management
    • follow-up and development of existing supplier base
  • Connect, communicate and collaborate with other purchasing units and other internal and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in the tender phase, and is responsible for purchasing within the assigned area.

About the Team

NCC Industry's purchasing team is a Nordic function with about 20 employees. You work closely with your colleagues in purchasing, both at NCC Industry and in other business areas. You will also be in close contact with our production units in Aggregates and Asphalt to ensure effective purchasing routines and processes and identify continuous business improvements.

We are looking for you with a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering / economics or other relevant higher education. You have at least 5 years of experience in similar work and have very good knowledge and understanding of complex purchasing processes. You are a skilled negotiator and are fluent in spoken and written Swedish and English. We would like to see that you are used to working data-driven within complex IT environments.

To succeed in the role, it is important that you are business-oriented, and have a good understanding of the customer's value and see how sustainability is an integral part of the purchasing process.

As a person, you are easy to create and maintain professional relationships, and have easy to communicate with different types of individuals. You are driven and committed and are motivated by constant development and a changing environment. Furthermore, we look for you to have a good ability to organize and prioritize your work, to be analytical and driven to deliver on your own goals, while being an important part of, and contributing to, the teams' common goals.

  • This role is based in Umeå
  • The role may involve travel within the Nordic region.
  • This is a permanent position with an initial probationary period of 6 months.
  • This position is background checked in accordance with NCC's safety culture.
