As Head of School in Gällivare municipality, you lead the Children and Education Administration. Your mission is to lead and develop the work in accordance with the political goals and current legislation.
You have the overall responsibility for the preschool and school's educational development, work environment, quality assurance and collaboration. You will have your own management team to help you. The administration employs around 370 staff plus hourly workers. Your management team consists of 21 managers consisting of 10 principals of compulsory schools, 6 principals of preschools, 1 head of student health, 1 administrative manager of preschools and 3 quality developers.
You report directly to the municipal director and are part of the municipality's management team together with the other heads of administration. In order to be able to carry out the assignments as head of school and head of administration fully and in a committed way, you need to be regularly present and we assume that you are prepared to move to Gällivare.
We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree, for example as a teacher or principal, and who have solid experience of leadership in the education sector. You have experience of working in governmental or municipal organizations and have a deep understanding of the special conditions in a politically controlled business.
You are used to working with change management, are clear in your communication and have the ability to create participation through responsiveness and collaboration.
You are also structured and organized, and thrive on managing many parallel processes.
Experience of working with development issues at the highest level of the school is an advantage.
The position is a three-year appointment with the possibility of extension.
