Who are we then?
Skellefteå Kraft enables society's electrification and future infrastructure solutions through innovation, research and investments in renewable energy. We are one of Sweden's largest power producers with production of wind and hydro power, heat and bioenergy.
While developing our current operations, we are investing heavily in research and development in new areas such as charging infrastructure, solar and storage with the aim of developing tomorrow's energy supply.
Our hydropower comes from the mighty rivers of the north and accounts for two thirds of the electricity we produce. Wind power enables the transition to a 100% renewable energy system where we currently own wind farms with a total of 117 wind turbines in operation.
With our district heating, energy from forest-based by-products becomes heat in tens of thousands of homes.
District heating is mainly produced using biofuel in almost 70 production plants, the three largest of which are located at Hedensbyn in Skellefteå, Lycksele and Malå.
Skellefteå Kraft is also a regional and local network owner with a 1,200-mile electricity network and is present in a total of nine municipalities. We invest a lot in being able to deliver electricity to our customers in a safe and secure way.
We build and own the fiber network in Skellefteå and the surrounding area. Eight out of ten municipal residents have access to one of Sweden's fastest and best networks, and there will be more.
We put customers and their needs first. Security of supply is our first priority, as is good service and fair agreements.
About recruitment
When we work with important infrastructure in society, some services are security classified and Swedish citizenship is therefore a requirement. For some positions, security clearance may be relevant.
