Who are we then?
Skellefteå Kraft enables society's electrification and future infrastructure solutions through innovation, research and investments in renewable energy. We are one of Sweden's largest power producers with production of wind and hydro power, heat and bioenergy.
With our district heating, energy from forest-based by-products is turned into heat for tens of thousands of homes. District heating is mainly produced with biofuel in nearly 70 production plants, the three largest of which are located at Hedensbyn in Skellefteå, Lycksele and Malå.
Our hydropower comes from the mighty rivers in the north and accounts for two thirds of the electrical energy we produce. Wind power enables the transition to a 100% renewable energy system, where we currently own five wind farms with around 117 wind turbines in operation.
Skellefteå Kraft is also a regional and local network owner with a 1,200-mile electricity network and is present in a total of nine municipalities. We invest a lot in being able to supply electricity to our 64,000 customers in a safe and secure way.
We build and own the fiber network in Skellefteå and the surrounding area. Eight out of ten municipal residents have access to one of Sweden's fastest and best networks, and there will be more.
We put customers and their needs first. Security of supply is our first priority, as is good service and fair agreements.
