For our purchasing department, we are looking for a strategic buyer with good negotiation skills and experience in doing business. As a strategic buyer, you will work closely with internal buyers within Smurfit Westrock to jointly conduct procurements and work with ongoing contractual issues and contract development. You will have group collaborations within the purchasing categories that are within your area of responsibility. You will work in coordination with the Purchasing Manager and other buyers to drive the commercial process to complete legally valid business agreements. In addition to commercial negotiations and contractual responsibilities, the work includes monitoring cost and market developments and supplier qualifications. The work is carried out with a commercial focus and in accordance with Smurfit Westrock policies and guidelines. Your background We are looking for you with a university degree in engineering/economics/law and some years of experience in procurement, both at operational and strategic level, with national and international suppliers. You are a skilled negotiator and driven by creating business solutions and developing business processes. You have good interpersonal skills and find it easy to build and maintain relationships. We expect you to be analytical, take initiative and work independently with delivery and quality in focus. You have very good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written, and enjoy international contacts as many of our suppliers and our group's purchasing contacts are in Europe.
