Degree project

In line with the transition to fossil-free production, we are facing new challenges in inventory management. We are therefore looking for an ambitious and committed student for a thesis focusing on optimizing our stock of sheet metal to maximize inventory utilization while promoting FIFO. In this role, you will collaborate with our experienced teams and use your analytical skills to identify and implement effective inventory management strategies. Location Oxelösund.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will play an important role in realizing this goal and thus contribute to the green transition of the entire steel industry.

A few words from your future supervisor

"My name is Nathalie Ramos Larsson and I will be the supervisor for this thesis. My journey at SSAB started in 2008 and since 2023 I work as a development engineer at the Logistics Development department. Before I started working as a development engineer, I studied logistics at Linköping University where optimization and simulation were the subjects I enjoyed the most.

"I look forward to being part of the thesis and will together with my lovely colleagues do everything to support you."
