About the position

The Fire, Rescue & Risk Management department supports all departments within SSAB in Luleå.

We are responsible for the company's internal rescue service, maintenance of fire alarms and extinguishing systems and support the company's systematic risk management work.

As a technician at SSAB Rescue Service, you will have the role of FIP (First Response Personnel) in the internal rescue force, which means that you are the first resource on site during the day at all fire or accident alarms within the industrial area.

In your role, you will support alarm technicians and the fire protection coordinator in the work with the technical and preventive fire protection work. You will also be a support for the fire protection manager and act as an exercise leader and help with the planning of exercises for the internal rescue force.

The role also includes work with maintenance and control of vehicles and equipment at the fire station.

Your main responsibilities

  • First Response Person.
  • Inspection/maintenance of equipment.
  • Participate in testing/inspection of fire alarm and gas extinguishing systems.
  • Exercise leader for internal exercises.
  • Plan and follow up exercise activities for the internal rescue force.


About you

  • Training in rescue services. Protection Against Accidents, Basic Training for Emergency Responders (GRIB) or equivalent.
  • Preferably experience of working with preventive and technical fire protection. Alternatively, previous work experience that is considered equivalent.
  • Your personal qualities are of great importance. You are outgoing, positive and responsive with a good ability to collaborate.
  • B driving license is a requirement.
