SSAB - Energy Coordinator - Business Development
Luleå, Sverige
Type of Employment Part-time
Job position Energy declarant/Energy expert
Work model On location
Application due date 6 January 2025
Are you the one?

Do you want to contribute to energy efficient solutions and environmental improvement measures? Then you are the person we are looking for as our new energy coordinator. You will have a key role in the work on energy efficiency in both existing operations and in the future fossil-free operations. Location Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

You will be part of a group of eight people consisting of environmental/energy engineers and technicians who provide expert support to production in the work of continuous improvement and increasing knowledge in the business. You will also interact with energy experts at SSAB's other plants in Sweden.

Your main responsibilities

  • To lead and be a driving force in energy work. Together with the Environmental Manager at SSAB Luleå, you will lead the Environmental and Energy Council.
  • To lead the work on energy mapping and energy efficiency in collaboration with production. SSAB is certified against STEMFS (energy mapping) through a supplement to ISO 14001 and also has a condition in the operating license to develop and update an energy management plan. You will also assist in matters related to monitoring of carbon dioxide emissions.
  • You will also work with various environmental issues that the group handles.

About you

  • We are looking for you who are a civil engineer with an energy and environmental focus or equivalent.
  • If you are a certified energy auditor or have equivalent experience, this is an advantage.
  • You are committed, positive, thorough and systematically solve the problems you face. You thrive and see the value of working with other people.
  • You are used to handling different types of reports and data sets in a structured way.
  • Communication internally and externally (with authorities and local residents) is an important task for all employees and it is therefore important that you can express yourself well in speech and writing in a simple but clear way.
  • You speak and write both Swedish and English.
  • We attach great importance to your personal qualities.

A few words from your future manager

"My name is Karin Lundberg, and I will be your manager. Our group's mission is to be a driving force in environmental and energy issues and thereby contribute to improvements together with our colleagues. There is a strong focus on these issues both internally and externally, not least because of the transition to fossil-free production. In the group, we work both individually but also prioritize working together when we carry out major investigations and compilations to both ensure quality and create consensus."
