As a fire engineer with us, you are responsible for supporting and developing structural fire protection and being a resource in other safety-related areas. You will work both strategically and operationally to ensure that our operations comply with legislation and internal guidelines.

As a fire engineer, you have a central role in our operations where you contribute to the safety of both staff and facilities. You will have the opportunity to work with and develop different parts of the safety work, from fire protection to SEVESO and LBE-related tasks together with other staff in the section. The role involves broad collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders.

Your main responsibilities

  • Responsible for supporting the business in matters relating to structural fire protection.
  • Develop, develop and revise the structural fire protection, such as documentation, fire protection descriptions and response plans.
  • Contribute to ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, such as BBR PBL and SSAB's own standard.
  • Be a resource for the section also within other legislations such as SEVESO and the Law on Flammable and Explosive Goods (LBE) and the ATEX Directive.
  • Create and revise emergency plans and other safety-related documents.
  • Provide overall support in sprinkler, fire alarm and escape safety.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external actors, such as authorities, to ensure high quality in our fire protection work.
  • Keep up to date on the external situation and drive developments in your field.

About you

  • You have a degree in fire engineering or education and experience that the employer considers equivalent.
  • Good knowledge of structural fire protection, including fire alarms and extinguishing systems.
  • Experience working with documentation related to fire protection.
  • B driving license.
  • As a person, you are analytical and structured with an eye for detail and you have the ability to work independently and structured with a solution-oriented approach.
  • You are also communicative and cooperative with the ability to engage and support different stakeholders as well as self-driven and enterprising with a strong focus on quality and results.
  • Knowledge of SEVESO legislation and LBE is meritorious.
  • It is also advantageous if you have experience of working in CAD, working with digital maintenance systems or experience of working in the process industry.
