Do you want to play an important role in maintaining and developing safety at our site? We are now looking for a committed and technically knowledgeable fire mechanic to join our Fire Protection & Risk Management team at SSAB. Location Borlänge.

We are now expanding with another fire mechanic with us. As a fire mechanic, you will work with our technical systems, such as fire alarms and sprinkler systems, and ensure that they work optimally.

You will have a varied role that combines technical tasks with advice and cooperation both internally and externally. You will work closely with your colleagues within the team.

Your main responsibilities

  • Ensure that all fire protection systems are operational, checked and maintained according to current regulations and procedures.
  • Participate in and support coordination meetings and audits of fire protection systems.
  • Manage orders for spare parts, fire supplies and protective equipment.
  • Plan and follow up on fault reports and ensure that actions are taken.
  • Assist in joint exercises, training and supervision of facility managers and response organization.
  • Support projects linked to technical fire protection systems.
  • Participate in procurement of services and suppliers for fire protection.
  • Responsible for the management of equipment in the company's emergency storage room.

About you

  • You have good technical skills and experience working with fire protection systems, such as fire alarms, sprinkler systems and gas extinguishing systems.
  • Education in fire protection or equivalent work experience.
  • Good administrative skills and used to working in digital systems, such as the Office package, work order management and time reporting.
  • B driving license.
  • Understanding of the importance of environmental responsibility, for example handling fire foam with PFAS is meritorious.
  • Knowledge of current laws and regulations linked to fire protection, such as SBA, ATEX and flammable goods is also meritorious.
  • You are structured and solution-oriented with an eye for detail.
  • Self-motivated and responsible with the ability to work proactively.
  • Communicative and collaborative with a strong focus on quality and safety.
