Do you want to be part of an interesting transition process towards fossil-free steel and have experience of production flows and Lean Production? We are in the starting blocks of installing our new electric arc furnace that will replace our blast furnace and LD process and the change will affect all flows in our business where we will ensure that we reach our strategic and operational goals. About the position

As a Production Development Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring that your team achieves set goals and contributes and delivers methodological expertise linked to Lean Production, in our cross-functional analysis groups (pillars):

You will have six direct reporting Lean Coaches and two QAs under you. You will report to the Head of Unit for Business Development.

Your main responsibilities

  • Support the organization by being involved in developing and implementing operational governance and working methods for deviation-driven improvement work in the production line.
  • Ensure that the pillar system delivers results in line with the site's goals and support the improvement teams in that work.
  • Coordinate and distribute the work in order to continuously develop our business with regard to operational control, flow principles and TAK / OEE to strengthen and build a robust system to develop and improve the business.

About you

  • We are looking for you with managerial experience mainly from the manufacturing industry and with experience in the implementation of Lean Production or related production systems.
  • To succeed in the role, we would like you to have experience in the steel and process industry.
  • As a person, you have a good methodical ability, can create gap analyses and basis for data-driven decisions as well as the ability to follow up and guide your team towards set goals.
  • It is advantageous if you have some form of academic education in production, logistics or economics. An advantage is if you have completed Lean Six Sigma training or similar.
  • As a person, you have the ability to switch between taking a helicopter perspective but also being able to work with the details. You are responsive to the needs of the business, structured and energetic with good communication skills.
  • You have an understanding of process management linked to production flows and as a person you are driven by development and results.
  • We are looking for you with documented experience of implementing and working with Lean Production, preferably based on Pillars or TPM structure in production and logistics environment and feel confident in the role of change leader
