SSAB Special Steels Protection is looking for a motivated, performance-driven Key Account Manager to join our Protection team in Europe, responsible for Nordic, Baltic and UK market. Main market is the defense sector, at the same time, the civil- and semicivil market in the protection segment is growing. Placement is Sweden.

About the position

As a Key Account Manager, you will collaborate closely with our sales team and product manager in the region, providing strategic sales and development support. Your primary focus is to develop strategic goals for the region, visit customers and develop new leads and opportunities for our brand Armox and protection products related. You will do this through the provision of effective methods, strategies and the Company’s goals and values.

Main responsibilities

  • Secure yearly sales and marketing targets with existing and potential customers in the region.
  • Develop strategic goals for the region together with the ASM and break these down into relevant and concrete sales and development activities.
  • Independently set up sales presentations, contracts and proposals. Pursue sales both at existing and new customers. Negotiate offers including prices and delivery times and other terms.
  • As KAM you also have the responsibility to follow and support customers independent of geographical areas and borders when projects are of a global character – frequent travelling is required.

About You

  • University degree or equivalent.
  • Solid technical skills, min 2-4 years’ experience in the steel or defense industry. Deep knowledge and understanding of ballistic protection steels and their capabilities and/or deep knowledge and understanding of defense industry.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and negotiation skills in English.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
  • Able to work alone, together with our technical support functions and/or the rest of the sales team, depending on circumstances and conditions.
