We are now looking for a laboratory engineer for wet chemistry who wants to be part of that journey.

About the position

The wet chemistry is part of SSAB Luleå's laboratory and is responsible for sampling and analyzing mainly process and environmental water samples. The laboratory supports the entire production chain with analyzes and expertise in chemistry issues. We have a well-equipped laboratory and highly skilled staff. Our environmental analyses are accredited by SWEDAC, which means high demands on quality assurance. You will be part of a team consisting of laboratory technicians and laboratory engineers.

Your main responsibilities

  • Sampling
  • Performing wet chemical analyses.
  • Reporting analysis results to the customer.
  • Performing preventive maintenance and control and calibration of instruments.
  • Developing instructions for analytical methods, performing validations and measurement uncertainty calculations.
  • Initiating the purchase of and being responsible for the evaluation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Responsible for maintaining and developing quality assurance.


About you

  • You have a college/university degree in chemistry/analytical engineering or equivalent.
  • Experience in laboratory, instrument and quality work is meritorious.
  • You are committed, work carefully and systematically to solve the problems you are set.
  • You can work independently but you also enjoy working in a team.
  • You can express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English.
  • Driving license is a requirement.
