Are you the one?

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

The work as a shift mechanic involves troubleshooting and remedial measures in our plants.

In your role as a mechanic on shift maintenance, you will perform plant-related work in the form of remedial UH work, which means restoring the plant to production status.

You will also work with preventive maintenance. The work also includes systematic work with continuous improvements.

You will work closely and collaborate with internal colleagues on your shift team, which consists of both mechanics and electricians.

The working hours are 5 shifts.

Selection and interviews are ongoing and the position may be filled before the end of the application period.

The tasks include, among other things

  • Fault finding
  • Execution of maintenance measures
  • Drawing reading
  • Root cause analysis
  • Planning and preparation in the IFS maintenance system of your own work

About you

  • You have a suitable technical education at least at upper secondary level or equivalent. Alternatively, you have documented experience of mechanical work in the process industry.

  • We attach great importance to your personal qualities.
  • You have a good knowledge of the Swedish language and an understanding of teamwork.
  • You are meticulous and attach great importance to follow-up and quality assurance and enjoy new challenges in everyday life.
  • At SSAB, we apply a group-organized way of working, which places demands on your and the work group's ability to independently drive the work process from planning to execution and follow-up.
  • B driving license is a requirement.
