Are you the one?

Do you want an exciting and varied role as a mechanical engineer in a production environment where there is great potential for development? In the role of mechanical engineer, you will have close contact with the line managers to capture and develop their needs to improve the lines mechanically. Location Borlänge.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

The mold is the last part of SSAB Borlänge's production. Here we cut and align steel in four cutting lines to the customer's ordered dimensions.

Together with the rest of the organization, you develop the business with the goal that the customer gets his material at the right time with the right quality.

You will work in a group of committed and competent employees who are passionate about development!

You will also be supporting external suppliers and our own process and quality development section to implement improvements in production.

  • The spider in the web between line managers, maintenance and external project managers.
  • Support in risk assessments and safety work on formats.
  • Bollboard against your own section in the improvement work.
  • Drive your own projects.

About you

  • You have studied Mechanical Engineering or other relevant areas or have equivalent documented knowledge.
  • You have work experience from industry / workshop or similar areas of activity.
  • It is an advantage if you have basic knowledge of CAD, FEM and reading drawings.
  • You have good communication skills and are easy to work with others.
