Are you the one?

Do you want to be part of SSAB's exciting journey towards a fossil-free future? SSAB in Oxelösund is now looking for a maintenance technician with area responsibility for our Operational Maintenance department at the Steelworks.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

You will belong to the Metallurgy production department, which consists of 600 employees. Our team in Operational Maintenance consists of 33 colleagues. You will be responsible for maintenance but collaborate with other support functions. Your role is primarily to lead the daily work, delegate and support your colleagues with matters such as troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.

We always work in teams and have varied tasks with a strong focus on safety, environment and quality.

Your main responsibilities

  • Driving change projects together with other departments
  • Distributing and prioritizing different tasks to your team
  • Following up on operations, planning, analyzing and streamlining
  • Ordering material and service as well as developing and conducting R & D via our maintenance system (IFS8)
  • Administration, coordination meetings and safety follow-ups

About you

  • You put safety first both for you and your colleagues.
  • You have a high school diploma or equivalent education in Pipes/Media/Hydraulics.
  • You have the ability to solve problems and make your own decisions, but also understand the importance of the group's collective effort to achieve set goals.
  • You thrive in a coordinating role with both administrative and practical elements.
  • You are technically interested, driven to learn new things and like order and tidiness.

Our offer

At SSAB, diversity and inclusion are part of our culture. We apply our values - driven, genuine and ahead of the curve - in our daily decision-making, always with the customer in focus. This makes us all team players, with a common drive to improve. When you join SSAB, you will be part of an organization of passionate problem solvers working together on important challenges. We will support your growth by offering a safe and friendly workplace that is conducive to work-life balance. At SSAB, you will have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and grow.

We offer a wide range of valued benefits to our employees. Here are some examples:
