Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future and sustainability of the planet. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

As one of three daytime welders, you will be part of a maintenance group of 14 people who are responsible for the maintenance of gas treatment. This includes preventive as well as corrective maintenance and continuous improvement of the plant. High quality and professional pride characterize the work of the team.

You plan/prepare and execute the jobs yourself or together with your colleagues. The work includes reporting and registration of maintenance work performed in the maintenance system, IFS.

In accordance with SSAB's management philosophy, you contribute to the continuous safety and improvement work. This is done together with your work group and other partners within the Coke Plant and other departments. The position is full-time and the working hours are during the day.

Your main responsibilities

  • Work as a pipe welder.
  • The work also involves the planning and preparation of UH work, and you work with both corrective and preventive maintenance.
  • Work in the maintenance system

About you

  • High school diploma, preferably with a mechanical/welding focus.
  • Experience from previous welding and maintenance work and if you have welding licenses for TIG and MMA welding in black and white material, it is an advantage.
  • You are responsible, positive, careful and flexible and you have the ability to solve problems and make your own decisions while it is important that you realize the importance of the team's collective effort to achieve set goals.
  • Great importance will be attached to your personal qualities.
