Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

We offer a challenging job with varied tasks, where you plan and prepare maintenance efforts throughout SSAB's area.

Your tasks mainly consist of working in our maintenance system IFS, where good knowledge of drawing reading is a requirement. The work also means that you, together with our clients, are out on the production units to prioritize and assess maintenance efforts in a safe and efficient way.

The Field Mechanics section is responsible for carrying out planned and remedial maintenance on SSAB's area. As a planner, you work to plan, prepare, order and follow up maintenance for the section.

The position offers good development opportunities - you can replace the manager for short periods (for example, during vacation or sick leave) and have the opportunity to develop the role based on the needs of the unit and your own interests.

Your main responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare maintenance operations.
  • Develop and improve maintenance work.
  • Participate in and drive improvement work and projects.
  • Provide support to mechanics and managers.

About you

  • You have a curiosity and drive to learn new things.
  • You care about your own safety and the safety of others.
  • You are a team player who enjoys working in teams.
  • You have good self-awareness, spread positive energy and set a good example.
  • You contribute to improvements and strive to achieve results.
  • You have good computer skills.
  • You have experience in maintenance and reading drawings.
  • You are social and enjoy being a contact person.
  • You have a strong technical interest.

We will support your growth by offering a safe and friendly workplace that is conducive to work-life balance. At SSAB, you will have the opportunity to broaden your knowledge and grow.
