Är du den rätta?

Do you want to be an important cog in the work of building and further developing our quality work? Do you want to contribute to SSAB's vision of a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world? Then you should apply for the position as a quality engineer in our newly formed Quality section, which is part of the EHSQ section. Location Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the position

As a quality engineer, you will work with quality linked to existing production but also contribute to the work of converting existing production to fossil-free steel production. Before the turn of the year, SSAB Luleå received permission for a completely new production facility for the manufacture of fossil-free steel, which will be completed in 2028. Changed production with delivery directly to external customers means that we need to take further steps in our quality work and strengthen our understanding of customer requirements. The position is located in Luleå and is a permanent position.

You will work to develop and support the business in both operational and strategic quality work. You will support the business in maintaining certifying management systems with the help of audits of the management system. In this work, you will have the role of audit coordinator where you lead the overall planning of audits but also be part of the implementation of audits both in Luleå and in other parts of SSAB. You will have a leading role in ensuring SSAB Luleå's certification within IATF 16949 and in strengthening the organization's knowledge linked to quality and customer focus.

Your main responsibilities

  • Develop and manage management systems to ensure compliance with legal, standard and customer requirements
  • Plan and coordinate the work and implementation of internal, external and customer audits for the purpose of quality assurance, external and customer audits in order to develop the business
  • Coordinate/participate in the introduction and then management of certification within IATF 16949 (International Automotive Task Force)
  • Work to develop the competence of the business in, among other things, quality and customer focus

About you

  • We would like you to have a university degree with a focus on quality management or other education that is considered equivalent, or well-documented work experience that has provided equivalent competence.
  • You have several years of documented experience in quality management, preferably in the steel industry
  • You have good knowledge of ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 as well as knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • You have training and experience in leading and conducting audit work. Certification as an audit manager is considered meritorious
  • Knowledge of IMDS is considered meritorious
  • You have good ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a simple and accessible way to different audiences. You are analytical, structured and solution-oriented.
