Are you the one?

Do you want to lead the work of building and developing our quality and business development function further? Do you want to contribute to SSAB's vision of a stronger, lighter and more sustainable world? Then you are the one we need to lead and coordinate the work of our newly formed Quality section, which is part of the EHSQ section, where you will sit in the management team. Location Luleå.

Becoming part of the SSAB family means joining us on a journey. A journey that we believe is crucial for the future of the planet and sustainability. Steel has been one of the most important materials for the development of our society and will continue to be so in the future. In our homes, in bridges connecting our cities and in the cars of tomorrow. At SSAB, we are proud of our history and our leadership in high strength steel. At the same time, we are aware that steel production is one of the industries that emits the most greenhouse gases in the world. This must change. We have therefore developed the world's first fossil-free process for steel production and around 2030 we will be largely fossil-free. As part of SSAB, you will be important in realizing this goal and thus contribute to a green transition of the entire steel industry.

About the position

As an operational quality manager, you will work with quality and business development linked to existing production, but also contribute to the work of converting existing production to fossil-free steel production. Before the turn of the year, SSAB Luleå received permission for a completely new production facility for the manufacture of fossil-free steel, which will be completed in 2028. Changed production with delivery directly to external customers means that we need to take further steps in our quality work and strengthen our understanding of customer requirements. The position is located in Luleå and is a permanent position.

You will be part of and lead a group of about 8 people consisting of business developers, mentors and quality engineers. The group's mission is, among other things, to support the business in maintaining and developing certified management systems, to coordinate and conduct audits, run / participate in business development projects, support the business in change management and in maintaining and developing a lean-based improvement work. The group has an important role in ensuring SSAB Luleå's certification within IATF 16949 and in strengthening the organization's knowledge linked to quality and customer focus. You will participate in various collaboration forums where you represent SSAB Luleå and where communication takes place in both Swedish and English.

  • Plan, prioritize and manage resources within the Quality section
  • Drive and streamline SSAB Luleå's quality work

  • Develop the business in, among other things, quality and customer focus
  • Develop and manage management systems so that legal, standards and customer requirements are met
  • Ensure the coordination and implementation of internal, external and customer audits in order to develop the business.

About you

  • You have several years of documented experience in quality work in a larger organization, preferably in the steel industry.
  • You have previous managerial or leadership experience and a strong commitment to both leadership and quality issues.
  • You have good ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, in a simple and accessible way to different target groups. Communication is in both Swedish and English.
