About the position

You will belong to the System Design section of the Sheet Metal Technology department, the section has about 20 system designers including consultants and the department has a total of about 50 designers including consultants divided into sections electrical / mechanical and system design, which work towards the rolling mill and finishing.

We work in area groups where electrical, mechanical and system designers work together with four different production departments. The work varies between own assignments in the form of work orders to participate to varying degrees in various investment projects towards production together with the designer colleagues in the department.

Collaboration with the production sections/departments is important and your most common contact areas will consist of maintenance technicians, operating technicians and operators, but you will also have contact with project managers, purchasing and external suppliers. We work with design, development, construction, programming, documentation/training and commissioning of control systems for machines at our plants.

Your main responsibilities

  • Drive the development and maintenance of automation systems on existing and new plants
  • Program PLC control systems such as Siemens SIMATIC S7 but also be trained in our own developed control system ProveiwR
  • Projecting, development and construction and also documentation of control systems for machines at our plants
  • Assist operation / maintenance with technical support and support
  • Conduct risk assessment and orders linked to work orders / projects
  • Assist in the development of plant and working methods
  • Commissioning of machines and plants
  • Conduct tests and validations on system designs

About you

  • We are looking for you who are technically interested, have creative ideas, enjoy working in projects and like to find solutions.
  • You need to be information-seeking and, if necessary, take support from your colleagues to solve complex problems and situations effectively.
  • You have good interpersonal skills, you have an open approach and are receptive to knowledge exchange.
  • You plan and organize your work in a realistic way, take the initiative to make things happen and have the ability to make your own decisions.
  • You speak fluent Swedish and English and have good ability to express yourself in speech and writing.

To succeed in the role, we would like you to have at least a 2-year education as an Automation Engineer or a Vocational Education or Mechanical Engineering education with a focus on automation technology or equivalent experience. Of course, we also value professional experience as e.g. automation designer and drive systems. Experience of programming in PLC and industrial safety control systems such as PLUTO as well as experience of C ++ is meritorious. We see it as a strong merit if you have experience from the manufacturing industry.
