We are seeking enthusiastic and skilled operators to join our Hot Mill team. As a Process Operator you will operate and maintain essential equipment within the Hot Mill production area, working on a rotating shift schedule. You’ll play a key part in maintaining a safe, efficient, and high-quality production environment, directly supporting our operational goals.

Founded in 2020, Stegra (formerly H2 Green Steel) was created with the purpose to decarbonize hard-to-abate industry. Construction of our first project – an integrated plant producing green hydrogen, green iron and green steel – is well underway in Boden, Sweden. Slashing emissions using green hydrogen and renewable electricity, we’re starting a clean industrial revolution. Steel is just the beginning.

Key Responsibilities
- Safely control, operate, and service the equipment and processes in the Hot Mill production area.
- Operate and monitor hot mill rolling machinery to shape and size steel.
- Adjust settings ensure quality and consistency of the steel product.
- Use control panels and systems to monitor production metrics, such as speed, thickness, and heat levels.
- Doing routine maintenance to support operations in the job detail’s part.
- Working on heights, climbing stairs and ladders are part of the role.
- Together with the rest of the team, maintain excellent housekeeping standards within the Hot Mill.
- Work with continuous improvement for the shift team and collaborate closely with other production operators to improve hot mill efficiency.
- Take responsibility to contribute to a safe work environment by actively participating in the development and upkeep of process control and safety practices as well a robust safety culture.
- Assist with the training of new employees, sharing knowledge and ensuring safety and efficiency.
Qualifications
- Relevant vocational qualification or equivalent operational experience.
- Documented qualifications in workplace safety (e.g. OSHA, Confined Space, Working at Heights).
- Additional certificates (e.g. Crane license, welding certificate) is a plus.
- Proficiency in English; Swedish language skills are advantageous.
Experience
- Significant experience working within a Steel Plant, or other relevant metal processing operation.
- Experience operating Hot Mill equipment.
- Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
- Advanced knowledge of operational processes and tools relating to Steel Plant.
- Prior experience of developing work methods and manuals.
- Knowledge of the correct application and use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
