We are looking for a skilled process operator to join the team in the hot rolling mill at Stegra Boden. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the steel mill's hot rolling mill. As a Process Operator, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of our steel products to customers worldwide.

About Stegra

Stegra is an industrial impact company with the ambition to reduce carbon emissions in the fossil-intensive industries that are most difficult to transition. We are building our first large-scale green hydrogen, green iron and green steel production facility in Boden. The company was founded in 2020 as H2 Green Steel and changed its name to Stegra in 2024.

We have offices in Boden and Stockholm and expect to be around 1500 employees by the end of 2025. We are building diversified teams of innovative and determined individuals who together drive the green transition.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor rolling mill machines to shape and size steel in the hot rolling process.

• Adjust settings to ensure quality and uniformity of steel product.

• Use control panels and systems to monitor production parameters, such as speed, thickness and heat levels.

• Climbing stairs and ladders is part of the position.

• Ensuring the highest level of orderliness to promote a safe and efficient working environment.

• Actively contribute to the creation of a safe working environment by participating in the development and maintenance of process control and safety procedures.
• Be a role model in driving a culture where safety is always the top priority by coaching and guiding less experienced colleagues to create a safe and efficient workplace together.




Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Documented qualifications in workplace safety (e.g. OSHA, working in confined spaces, working at heights).
• Experience in developing working methods and participating in development projects.
• Hot work certificate.
• Experience in developing working methods.
• Additional certificates (e.g. driving license, forklift license, crane operator certificate, welding certificate) are an advantage.

• Good knowledge of English; basic knowledge of Swedish is a plus.




Experience

• Experience of working in steelworks or other relevant metalworking operations.
• Experience working with mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Experience in handling equipment for steel mill processes.
• Previous experience and knowledge in using Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) safely and correctly.
