We are looking for a skilled Process Operator to join the team in the melting shop at Stegra Boden. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and reliable operation of the steelworks' melting furnaces.

About Stegra

Stegra is an industrial impact company with the ambition to reduce carbon emissions in the fossil-intensive industries that have the hardest time making the transition. We are building our first large-scale green hydrogen, green iron and green steel production facility in Boden. The company was founded in 2020 as H2 Green Steel and changed its name to Stegra in 2024.

We have offices in Boden and Stockholm and expect to be around 1500 employees by the end of 2025. We are building diversified teams of innovative and determined individuals who together drive the green transition.

Responsibilities

  • Controlling, operating and maintaining the equipment and processes in the smelter while ensuring safety, environmental and quality requirements.
  • Focus on troubleshooting mechanical and electrical systems related to the melting processes.
  • Verify, document and record data.
  • Actively contribute to the creation of a safe working environment by participating in the development and maintenance of process control and safety procedures.
    • Ensure the highest level of orderliness to promote a safe and efficient work environment.
    • Be a role model in driving a culture where safety is always the top priority by coaching and mentoring less experienced colleagues to create a safe and efficient workplace together.
    • You will be trusted to make your own decisions, and act proactively to find solutions.

    • Qualifications

      • High school diploma or equivalent.
        • Hot work certificate.

        • Documented qualifications in workplace safety (e.g. OSHA, working in confined spaces, working at height).
        • Additional certificates (e.g. crane operator certificate, welding certificate) are an advantage.

        • Good knowledge of English; basic Swedish is an advantage.

        Experience

        • Experience working in a steel mill or other relevant metalworking industry.
        • Experience working with smelting equipment (EAF, AC/DC, High Power Furnace).
