Research shows that women and other under-represented groups within our industry hesitate to apply unless they tick most boxes of a role description. At Stegra, we are building an impact company with sustainability at its core. We need a diverse, inclusive, and authentic team to rally behind our purpose of de-carbonizing hard-to-abate industries, starting with steel.

So, if you are equally passionate about our purpose yet concerned that your experience doesn’t perfectly align with the qualifications stated in the job advert, we strongly encourage you to apply anyway. You may be just the right candidate, either for this role – or for another upcoming role in our rapidly growing business.

About us:

Stegra, formerly know as H2 Green Steel, is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. But this is just the beginning – our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize other industries in addition to steel, and we look forward to what’s next in store for us.

We are looking for talented, innovative, and purpose-driven people to join our rapidly growing and diverse team. Our employees get to learn everyday, implement the latest technology and test and put their ideas into practice. Together, we are building an impact company with sustainability at its core – for our people, customers, investors, society, and planet.

As a Project Specialist, you will play a pivotal role in delivering techno-economic assessments, managing complex interfaces, and contributing to the strategy for new technologies, plant projects and CO2 reduction projects. You will ensure that workstreams are effectively aligned with interfacing teams, build cross-functional collaboration, and help standardize ways of working.

This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of deliverables, contribute to technology innovation, and establish best practices for project management and execution.

Responsibilities:

  • Work with cross-functional teams to execute technology-centered projects in an effective and high-quality manner.
  • Drive technoeconomic assessments of breakthrough technologies to support strategic decision-making.
  • Coordinate the alignment of workstreams across interfacing teams to ensure smooth project delivery and resolve interdependencies.

  • Contribute to the development of standardized governance frameworks and deliverables for plant development projects.
  • Manage project inputs, including technical specifications, simulations, and business case elements.
  • Develop material to secure executive buy-in on strategic roadmaps.
  • Conduct lessons learned and retrospectives to continuously improve processes and establish "best practices" for the team.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in engineering or science (e.g., mechanical, material, electrical, renewable systems engineering) or equivalent.
  • At least 2–4 years of experience in project management, interface management, or a similar role in industrial or technology-driven environments.
  • Proven experience in managing cross-functional teams and stakeholder alignment.
  • Strong analytical skills, both qualitative and quantitative.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with front end engineering or technoeconomic analysis or evaluation of emerging technologies is a strong plus.

Location: This role is based in Stockholm, Sweden. Occasional travel to project sites or key stakeholder meetings may be required.
