Stegra, formerly know as H2 Green Steel, is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. Shift Manager

We are looking for an experienced Shift Manager to oversee and support our Cold Mill operations, ensuring smooth day-to-day activities, safety, and top-quality production. As the Shift Manager – Cold Mill, you will play a key role in overseeing and supporting daily operational activities during assigned shifts. Your leadership will ensure seamless execution of tasks, adherence to safety and quality standards, and effective coordination among team members to maintain continuous production and achieve operational targets.

Responsibilities: 

  • Managing Operations: Oversee the Pickling Line Tandem Cold Mill during normal operations, as well as erection and commissioning phases. 
  • Ensuring Safety & Quality: Promote a culture of workplace safety while ensuring compliance with operational and environmental standards. 
  • Optimizing Processes: Utilize your experience in the Acid Regeneration Plant process to enhance efficiency and sustainability. 
  • Enhancing Performance: Oversee Batch Annealing and Skin Pass Mill processes, ensuring product quality and process optimization. 
  • Team Leadership & Development: Support and mentor team members, fostering a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma in relevant field or other equivalent education is preferred. A bachelor’s degree in Metallurgy or Process Engineering, or another related field, is beneficial.
  • Background in heavy industry operations, with hands-on experience. 
  • Proficiency in using relevant software and tools e.g., office suite, maintenance systems, information system, follow-up system and purchase systems 
  • Good process knowledge and knowledge of the department's technical equipment and safety procedures. 
  • Ability to serve as a role model in promoting a strong safety culture. - Strong leadership skills and team-building qualities. 
  • Effective communication and strong interpersonal skills 
  • Very good oral and written skills in English. Basic Swedish skills are seen as a plus.

Other abilities 

  • Comfortable working at heights. 
  • Requires the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), including hard hats, steel-toe boots, and safety glasses. 
  • Ability to work rotating shifts.
