About us:

Stegra, formerly know as H2 Green Steel, is on a mission to disrupt the global steel industry by producing green steel, with the end goal of bringing down CO2 emissions to zero. By using green hydrogen and fossil-free electricity instead of coal; water and heat will be our primary emissions. By 2030, our ambition is to produce 5 million tonnes of green steel annually in our fully integrated, digitalized, and sustainable plant in Boden, located in northern Sweden - currently in construction phase. But this is just the beginning – our expertise in green hydrogen will enable us to decarbonize other industries in addition to steel, and we look forward to what’s next in store for us.

Shift Manager

As a Shift Manager at the Hydrogen Manufacturing Plant (HMP), you’ll lead and support your team to achieve production excellence during assigned shifts. This role focuses on fostering a safe, inclusive, and high-performance environment while ensuring operational targets are met.

Responsibilities:

  • Guide and mentor a multidisciplinary team, promoting a collaborative and inclusive culture focused on safety, quality, and performance.
  • Allocate resources, manage staffing, and ensure smooth task execution with the tools, parts, and knowledge needed for success.
  • Enforce safety protocols, conduct regular checks, and uphold quality standards while addressing issues promptly.
  • Maintain high production quality and meet targets for volume, schedule, and specifications, collaborating with maintenance to minimize downtime.
  • Identify and implement process and equipment improvements, track team performance, and support skill development through training and best practices.

Qualifications: 

  • High school diploma in a relevant field; a bachelor’s degree in Chemical or Process Engineering is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Relevant certifications required for the role.
  • Experience of 5+ years in a relevant area, including 2+ years in leadership roles, ideally as a Shift Manager.
  • Preferred background in the chemical or oil & gas industry, with experience in ATEX environments and handling flammable gases.
  • Familiarity with industry regulations, safety protocols, and ISO standards (9001/14001/45001).
  • Proficient with relevant software tools (e.g., Office Suite, maintenance, and purchasing systems).
  • Strong knowledge of plant processes, technical equipment, and safety procedures.
  • Very good knowledge of English, with basic Swedish skills as a bonus.
