At Swerim, we conduct research in collaboration with world-leading manufacturers and users of high-performance metallic materials, such as stainless steel, aluminum, high-strength steel and brass. The group "Corrosion and Hydrogen Embrittlement" has a strong focus on corrosion of materials including materials for hydrogen applications and hydrogen embrittlement. The group is now looking for a researcher with expertise in corrosion, hydrogen embrittlement and hydrogen testing.
About the position.

You will work with both shorter assignments and longer research projects. The work is conducted in close collaboration with industry, other research institutes and universities, both in Sweden and internationally. You will have an independent role while being part of a research team with colleagues from across the company. Qualifications
You basically have a civil engineering degree or equivalent with a focus on materials. A postgraduate degree and a few years of industrial experience are meritorious. Experience and knowledge of testing of materials in a hydrogen environment, analysis of hydrogen content in metallic materials and hydrogen embrittlement mechanisms is a requirement for the position. Experience of working with SEM and EBSD and knowledge of other analytical methods, e.g. scattering and imaging with synchrotron light and neutrons is highly meritorious, as well as an understanding of the link between process, structure and properties of metallic materials, especially stainless steels is meritorious.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who are basically interested in solving technical problems, take personal responsibility and can communicate your research in English and Swedish in speech and writing regardless of the target group.
