We want to be more! The metal research institute Swerim conducts industry-related research and development around metals and their path from raw material to finished product. We are 200 employees in two locations in Sweden - Luleå and Stockholm. Our vision is a fossil-free and circular industry. Now the production technology business area is looking for a researcher in the development of new digital technologies for the metal-producing industry. Within Swerim, we work closely with industry with their processes and data. We are a research team within Swerim that develops advanced measurement systems and analyzes adapted for industrial environments. Our expertise is primarily in the areas of sensor/measurement technology, data analysis and modelling. We work in a network with some of Sweden's largest metal-producing companies, and in projects with European partners. Our driving force is to solve complex problems and create industrial benefit by researching digital transformation for a sustainable industry. Qualifications You basically have a master's or master of science in engineering in physics, chemistry or mechanical engineering (or equivalent). You are welcome to have a dissertation, but it is not a requirement. Below are some additional qualifications that are important for the position: * Good knowledge and experience of experimental work and data analysis of collected data. * Experience working with optics, lasers and data acquisition * Programming skills in e.g. Matlab and Python * Data management and statistical analysis * Experience of working with industrial applications within the process or manufacturing industry is a strong asset.
