Do you want to be a key player in the green transition of Europe's steel and metal industry? The Metal Research Institute Swerim is looking for a committed and innovative researcher who wants to contribute to shaping the digitized industrial processes of the future in processing technology.
About the job
As a researcher in machining, you will be part of a dedicated research team that, together with industry, develops and optimizes machining processes such as forging, rolling and forming. The industry is in the middle of an exciting transition phase with major investments in climate-neutral steel plants and upgrades of existing plants. Your role will be central in helping these processes become more sustainable, smart and efficient.
The work includes:
* Modeling and simulation of machining processes
* Practical applications in our labs and pilot plants
* Long-term research projects in international collaboration (e.g. EU projects)
* Shorter assignments where we quickly deliver value to industry
* Project management, including responsibility for customer contacts, budget and deliverables.
In your role, you will also work on analyzing results, writing reports, applying for research funding and presenting research results.
Who are you?
We are looking for you who have a relevant master's degree in, for example, mechanical engineering, materials engineering and engineering physics. You have experience in model development and programming, preferably with knowledge of FEM modeling. It is advantageous if you have a PhD or a few years of work experience from industry.
As a person, you are curious, responsive and committed and contribute to a positive and inclusive work climate. You are easy to cooperate and work both individually and in groups. It is also natural for you to support colleagues with your technical skills and experience.
You are communicative and are used to expressing yourself orally and in writing in Swedish and English.

The position is a full-time permanent position and the location is Luleå. Travel is included in the service.
