Our research team in Kista is looking for you who want to work on developing processes and knowledge in heat treatment: About the job In the research area of heat treatment, we develop industrial process technology for heat treatment of components that combine quality, performance and productivity in a long-term and sustainable perspective. The research is largely linked to the development of electrified powertrains and improved sustainability in heat treatment processes for reduced climate impact. A large part of the projects are run within the Heat Treatment Center, a collaborative forum between industrial companies, Swerim and RISE. You will work on improving the life and functionality of components through the development and optimization of various hardening processes with a focus on case hardening, induction hardening and nitriding/nitrocarburizing. As a researcher in heat treatment, you work in close collaboration with Swedish and international industrial customers that include material manufacturers, equipment suppliers and component manufacturers. You are involved in the entire chain from idea generation and application work to create new research projects to practical planning and implementation. About you You probably have a master's degree in engineering or equivalent from, for example, materials science or materials physics. For this position, it is highly advantageous if you have a few years of industrial experience and have worked with heat treatment, mechanical testing, simulation or statistical analysis of materials. You have a strong interest in materials engineering and combine good theoretical knowledge with practical skills in a lab environment. You are able to collaborate easily, take your own initiatives and have a good command of Swedish and English in both speech and writing. Are you interested?
