Your mission

As a specialist in water and chemical management, you will have a varied and developing role where you contribute to Umeå residents receiving cost-effective and environmentally friendly district heating, district cooling and electricity. Through daily management, you will review and prioritize tasks together with your team, where the work environment and sustainability are of the highest priority.

After the daily pulse meeting, you will work with sampling of steam and water cycles and analyze and evaluate results in the short and long term. The position also includes optimization and development of our water treatment processes. You also have a key role in the Chemicals Group, where you are the coordinator for Umeå Energi's development in the field of chemicals from both a work environment, environmental and quality point of view. Your expertise in chemistry can also be used in other areas of activity, such as productizing residual products from Umeå Energi's combustion plants.

You will work closely with the shift teams responsible for the operation of our production plants and the district heating network in Umeå. You will also collaborate with delivery managers for both Production Inner and Outer.

Examples of tasks:

  • Quality assurance of water quality at our plants.
  • Quality assurance of chemistry in water and steam cycles
  • Coordinate Umeå Energi's Chemical Group.
  • System and management responsibility for Umeå Energi's chemical documentation system.
  • Competence holder for process and combustion-related chemical issues.
  • Contribute to business development through cross-functional collaboration and improvement projects.
  • Represent the company towards internal and external stakeholders, such as authorities, universities and industry organizations.
  • Report and address deficiencies in the work environment
  • Reduce the environmental impact of operations.
  • Be responsible for documentation and reporting via different systems.

About you:

You are analytical with a strong focus on safety and quality, and you enjoy collaborating across departments and with different stakeholders. Through joint prioritization and continuous dialogue, you create value for the organization, contributing to continuous improvement and development in your area as well as Umeå Energi in general. You have the ability to coordinate and lead improvement work and participate in projects according to established models, with an understanding of what it means for the business you work in. You also have good experience of documentation systems and reporting.

Qualifications:

  • B-driving license.
  • Good language skills in Swedish/English.
  • College or university education in chemistry or process or equivalent knowledge that is considered relevant to the position.
  • Experience of chemical management, water chemistry or environmental work or experience in production work and want to develop.

Meritorious:

  • Proven operating experience, especially in steam and hot water boilers.
  • Documented coordination experience, preferably from leading a chemical group or equivalent team.
