Your role We are looking for an Operations Technician for shift work who wants to be involved in ensuring the operation and maintenance of our production facilities and distribution networks for heating and cooling in Umeå. In the role, you will monitor, control and optimize production and process during all hours of the day.

The work tasks include supervision, care, status control and maintenance of the facilities. You are responsible for ongoing reporting, follow-up and documentation of the activities in your area of responsibility. Your shift starts with a handover, where the status of the facilities, ongoing work and planned operations for the coming hours are handed over. The morning shifts also include a pulse meeting with the Production and Fuel Department to plan the day's work. At this meeting, the work environment is always in focus.

You will work in shifts and be part of a dedicated team that together ensures that we maintain the highest standards at our facilities.

Some of your future tasks:

  • Operation and maintenance of main production facilities.
  • Operation and monitoring of Umeå Energi's district heating and district cooling networks.
  • Continuously ensure that documentation of operations is carried out via various reporting systems
  • Report and improve/correct deficiencies in the plant via fault reporting and operator maintenance
  • Conduct rounds linked to the plant and continuous supervision
  • Participate in daily management and various forums
  • Participate in improvement and development work

Your team:

The team consists of 30 shift colleagues, 5 operating technicians working during the day as well as a production planner and a chemical engineer. You will be part of a shift team of five people, where the team consists of a Shift Leader, an Operations Engineer and three Technicians. As the work involves close collaboration within the team and you will be working afternoons, nights and weekends during several of your shifts, good teamwork skills within the shift team are essential. You will also collaborate with Maintenance Production (Maintenance and Automation Technician), Operations External and Maintenance Planning.

To succeed in the role, you have:

  • Operations technician training or other higher education deemed equivalent.
  • B-driving license

Advantageous for the position:

  • Experience from the CHP industry
  • Work in IFS or similar maintenance systems
  • Work in 800XA, Siemens systems, Honeywell and Schneider systems.
  • Project participation

Personal qualities

We are looking for you with good collaboration skills and who value structure in your work, while being able to be flexible in situations that require it. You are analytical, results-oriented and have the ability to see opportunities and find new solutions. An interest in power and heat, engineering, process work and working with the control of pressurized devices is also an advantage. A positive attitude and the ability to support and coach colleagues are qualities that we see as important to thrive in this role.
