Meal service in Umeå municipality includes the preparation and serving of lunches in both preschool and primary school, upper secondary school, restaurant and to several units in elderly care. The Väst-Tegs kitchen is located in the Väst-Tegs nursing home in Umeå, a newly built nursing home that has opened up for 120 residents since September 2024. The Västteg kitchen has been in operation since May 2024 in newly built and spacious premises and is the kitchen in Umeå that prepares meals for our customers in the home as well as lunch and dinner for our dining guests at the house all days of the week. We need to strengthen our team with a chef. The team consists of 6 cooks, 3 meal assistants and a cook with operational responsibility. You get a workplace with a great focus on well-being, cooperation and the needs of our diners. Your work tasks As a chef at Västteg kitchen, you work with all common tasks in the kitchen. Among other things, you will work with cooking special diet cooking ordering food receiving goods packing and presenting food in boxes cleaning and washing up. You will also be in contact with our in-house diners and customers in the home. You will be responsible for preparing tasty, sustainable, appealing and nutritious meals with a balanced budget. About you We are looking for you who have documented three-year chef training or other training that can be considered equivalent. You have at least three years' experience of cooking and working in a commercial kitchen/restaurant. We would like to see that you have training in consistency-adapted nutrition, meals aimed at an older target group and cooking in public activities. As a person, you are structured and have good collaboration skills. In your work, you take responsibility and take initiatives for continuous improvement. Of course, you have a genuine interest in food. You have good written and spoken communication skills and good computer skills. You have good communication skills and a professional approach to colleagues, partners and those we serve. Working hours are during the day, working every third weekend.
