Meal service in Umeå municipality includes the preparation and serving of lunches in both pre-schools and primary and secondary schools, as well as to several units in elderly care. Our task is to provide good service and good healthy meals for our diners and to create an understanding of the importance of food for good health and well-being together with the staff in schools and care. We are now looking for a chef for a temporary position at Carlshöjdsskolan. Carlshöjdsskolan is a school for students from preschool to grade 6. At present, we cook about 350 portions. Two cooks and two meal assistants work in the kitchen. We work closely with the school and serve breakfast, lunch and snacks every weekday of the year. We have a well-established rotation between different tasks in the kitchen and for us it is important that we thrive together. Your tasks As a chef with us, you are responsible for leading and planning the kitchen work. You work with the preparation of meals and special diets, planning, administration, self-monitoring, orders, food purchases and invoice management. Washing dishes and cleaning the premises are also part of the job. You provide good service and help to ensure that we have satisfied diners. We offer a social and stimulating job with a lot of variety! About you We are looking for you who have documented chef training, upper secondary education or other equivalent education. You have experience of working in commercial kitchens and lunch service. As a person, you are positive and outgoing. You are happy to take responsibility and take the initiative for improvements. The work also requires you to be structured and have good collaboration skills. Of course, you have a genuine interest in food. You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish in speech and writing, as well as good computer skills. You have good communication skills, as cooperation with colleagues, students and the school's educators is included.
