Umeå Kultur runs the city library in the Väven cultural center, ten local libraries and a library bus, the Culture School and the Women's History Museum. Another area of responsibility is to support and strengthen cultural activities, especially among children and young people, and to conduct its own program activities. The library bus in Umeå visits about 140 stops in the municipality and provides service to both residential areas, preschools and schools that are at a long distance from other libraries. The library bus staff work in Väven and belong to the Väven Läs unit. We are looking for a driver for the library bus, Väven Läs. Duty at the city library is included. Your tasks You will work on the library bus as a driver and library assistant, guiding visitors, setting up books and carrying out other tasks. You will be responsible for cleaning, washing and repairing the library bus and updating printed material. Together with the team, you will plan the activities of the library bus and receive groups of children from preschool and school. You will work in a small team with another driver, librarians and library assistants. The team is part of the Väven Läs unit of the City Library. The position also includes two shifts a week at the library desk at the city library with visitor guidance, book setting and other tasks. Evening work is included in the service, one to two evenings per week. About you We are looking for you who have a C driving license, have YKB and experience of driving heavy vehicles in commercial traffic. Experience of working in a library is an advantage. Education at university level is an advantage, especially a degree in Library and Information Science. You have an inclusive approach, enjoy meeting people of all ages and have a respectful and friendly approach. You enjoy working in an outgoing manner with a focus on high service levels. You have the ability to work independently and in a structured way, but also to cooperate well with colleagues in the work group. Good IT skills and an interest in literature and social issues are a given. You can express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English. Great emphasis will be placed on personal qualities.
