About the job Streets and Parks has 108 employees and the planning function is located in the City Hall area in central Umeå. The street operations department consists of just over 40 people and we are responsible for the operation and maintenance of the municipality's streets, squares and cycle paths on public land. As an engineer in street operations, you plan and follow up on operation and maintenance work on the municipality's streets, squares and cycle paths. You will also be responsible for the inspection and maintenance of the city's bridges and structures. By coordinating efforts and participating in development projects, you will contribute to a long-term sustainable society where the infrastructure is robust and reliable, regardless of weather and season. There is some on-call work. We work for a safe and accessible urban environment that will contribute to improving everyday life for Umeå's residents. Your tasks: Plan and follow up on inspections and maintenance of bridges, structures and other operation and maintenance activities on streets, squares and bicycle paths. Coordinate works and cooperate with different actors to ensure smooth operations. Participate in planning and development projects to improve city infrastructure. Administering and documenting inspections and managing orders and tenders when necessary. About you We are looking for you who have a university degree in construction, road or civil engineering, or equivalent experience that we consider equivalent. If you have previous experience of operation and maintenance work, especially in bridges and structures, it is an advantage. A B driving license is a requirement for the position.
