The Environmental Protection Unit works broadly with sustainability in various activities. The unit is divided into three main areas: environmentally hazardous activities (sawmills, airports, vehicle repair shops, vehicle washers, vehicle manufacturers, wind turbines, etc.) land and waste (waste facilities, ports, quarries, landfills, contaminated sites, etc.) health protection (nurseries and schools, hygienic activities, noisy premises, housing, etc.) We are now looking for a dedicated environmental inspector. Duties and responsibilities As an environmental inspector, you will work with the coordination, planning and execution of supervision and testing according to the Environmental Code with a focus on environmentally hazardous activities. The work involves both processing incoming cases and initiating your own cases for priority objects. Other supervisory tasks in the field of the Environmental Code may also be relevant based on the needs of the business. We are looking for you who; are a trained environmental inspector or have a scientific university education in the field of the environment, or education / professional experience that is considered equivalent. have work experience in supervision and testing under the Environmental Code in environmentally hazardous activities and have experience in assessing risks to human health and the environment. We would like you to have experience of mass management, contaminated areas, noise and chemical issues. As the position involves many contacts and collaboration with various actors, great emphasis will be placed on your personal qualities. You are confident in your role as an authority and have the ability to think strategically in order to see the context, environmental benefits and overall picture. As a person, you are driven, structured, enterprising and have a good ability to perform your duties carefully, legally and efficiently. To succeed in the role, you need to have good communication skills in both speech and writing and be able to build good relationships. The work is independent with great responsibility while you need to have good ability to collaborate. The service requires a B driving license.
