Are you the one? Umeå municipality wants to grow sustainably and strengthen environmental and sustainability work in the municipality.
We are now looking for an employee for the environmental development unit at the environmental and health protection at the urban planning administration.
Umeå municipality has developed a development strategy for water and wastewater. The purpose of the strategy is to achieve good status in water bodies, ensure water quality at bathing sites, secure drinking water supplies, and promote cost-effective and sustainable wastewater solutions. The development strategy for water and wastewater consists of several parts that together make up the strategy. One of the parts is a plan for individual wastewater management with the aim of ensuring that all individual sewers in the municipality meet the applicable treatment requirements under the Environmental Code.
Supervision of small sewers is part of the supervision under the Environmental Code, which is conducted by environmental and health protection. Based on the strategy for water and sewage and the action plan, inspection of small sewers will be planned and carried out within a limited time period until 2027 at the latest. In order for this planned inspection work to be carried out in a structured and efficient manner to achieve the goal, the Environmental and Health Protection is now looking for suitable environmental inspectors for this inspection project.
Your tasks
As an environmental inspector for the small sewer inspection project, you will, together with the other environmental inspectors in the project team, carry out inspection visits to small sewers, handle inspection cases and incoming permit applications. Part of the work will also consist of advice to affected property owners. Participation in quality work within the project is also included in the service, such as developing and refining inspection methodology and working methods, preparing information materials, routines, templates, etc.
After the project is completed, the opportunity for other tasks will be offered in collaboration with you based on the needs of the business, your experience and wishes.
We are looking for you who have:
a university degree in environmental and health protection or equivalent
work experience in supervision and assessment under the Environmental Code.
If you have experience of working with supervision and testing of small sewers, as well as expertise in environmental quality standards for water and digitization in the public sector, it is particularly advantageous.
