Umeåregionens brandförsvar works with accident prevention and rescue services in the municipalities of Umeå, Vindeln and Robertsfors. The fire brigade has a full-time station in central Umeå with about 80 employees and nine RiB stations with about 150 firefighters on standby and two fire brigades. Together with 16 other municipalities in Norrbotten and Västerbotten, we are part of the joint rescue management system Räddningssamverkan Nord. We are currently in an exciting development phase where we are building another full-time station in Umeå and plan to expand our workforce in the coming years. Mission statement Your main responsibility as a manager is accident prevention, which you lead and develop together with other employees within the organization. You have personnel responsibility for a group of employees consisting of about eight fire engineers and inspectors and your budget responsibility mainly concerns the accident prevention activities. You are also a member of the fire brigade's management team and will work to ensure that the organization's other tasks are carried out professionally. Organizationally, you are directly subordinate to the rescue chief and depending on your qualifications and suitability, there may be an opportunity to be part of one of the fire service's overall command functions. You will mainly work office hours where you will manage, develop and follow up your work areas and the tasks for which you are responsible. As parts of the working hours can be carried out remotely, opportunities open up for those who want to be resident in a place other than in the Umeå area. About you We are looking for people with great commitment and drive, and with a desire to develop and improve our operations. Some of the qualities we value highly are that you are clear, unpretentious and responsive. You have a good approach and meet both colleagues and the public with respect and professionalism. We look favorably if you have worked in municipal rescue services and that you have experience of working as a manager / leader with staff, budget and operational responsibility. However, this is not a requirement but personal suitability will be highly valued. Fire engineer degree supplemented with MSB's rescue service training (RUB), Supervision B or other experience / training that the employer considers relevant to the task is meritorious. You have very good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish. Driving license, qualification at least B is required.
