The technical and property administration plays a central role in the municipality's work. At the administration's communication unit, we work, together with managers and employees, to inform about the administration's work to provide a good service to citizens and municipal operations. Within the administration, over 1,000 employees work in five different operations: Property, Streets and Parks, Digital Transition and IT, Meal Service and Cleaning and Operations Service. Duties and responsibilities As a communications manager with us, you have both a leading role and work operationally with communication efforts. You will lead, coordinate and develop the tactical and strategic communication work within the administration's five activities. You will be responsible for building communication procedures, managing journalist contacts and strengthening our brand. You will have a varied job that changes over time. The communication work is both operational and strategic, which means that you identify communication needs and find solutions - both on your own and together with your colleagues in the communication unit and the rest of the municipal organization. This may include text production, web publishing, some layout work and film production. You will plan communication and put the recipient at the center with clear, targeted and accessible communication, whatever channel we use. You have a leading role, with financial and personnel responsibility for the communications unit with four communicators and work closely with politicians and management. You will report to the Head of Administration and be part of the Technology and Property Management management team, where you will work to continuously develop our processes, with a focus on dialog and good relations. About you We are looking for you who have: University degree/post-secondary education in media and communication sciences or equivalent Experience as a manager or leader with staff responsibility Extensive experience in working with communication Experience in communication planning, media contacts, layout and communicating news in different channels Experience in crisis communication is an advantage. You are proficient in Office 365 and other relevant communication tools, such as Adobe and Meta. As a person, you have a good ability to find the essence of municipal decisions and present them pedagogically. You are driven, responsive and fearless to take on different tasks, regardless of size. Your flexibility and good organizational skills make you thrive in an environment where the pace is fast and the tasks are varied. Your ability to guide and prioritize based on a high understanding of what Umeå municipality and the technology and property management operations need from a holistic perspective is important for this role.
