Due to a retirement, we are now looking for a key player who can contribute to developing Umeå's green structure and public places, a committed and experienced operational area manager for park management for our operations in central Umeå. Are you the person we are looking for? Your tasks As one of two Operational Area Managers, you will have a key role within the Operations Department at Gator och Parker. You and your closest colleague, the Operations Manager for Streets, work closely together and collaborate a lot between your work groups in staff planning over the season, work environment management and strategic development. Together with other managers and colleagues, you will ensure the efficient and sustainable operation and development of the municipality's parks and residential nature As Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and organizing the work of the parks administration's operations staff. You will lead a team of 20 full-time employees, including two operations coordinators who will provide operational support in your daily work. In high season, the staff is increased by about 10 seasonal workers. The group is divided into teams and works on a regional and seasonal basis. You manage, distribute and develop the work and have financial, health and safety and personnel responsibilities. There may be some form of standby duty. About you We are looking for a responsive, clear and present leader who actively encourages employees' skills development, participation and sense of responsibility in the work. You have a good sense of service and quality, want to create benefits for citizens and understand how important your work is for the image of Umeå. You have previous experience as a manager with personnel, budget and operational responsibility, preferably in park management, horticulture or similar activities. It is an advantage if you are a trained horticultural engineer or have other relevant higher education. Experience in the green sector is also an advantage. You enjoy working in collaboration with others and you have experience of coordinating work with other units or departments. You have good structure in your work and you are able to plan, prioritize and work to deadlines. A B driving license is required. We welcome your application!
