Your tasks As one of two operational area managers, you have a key role in creating well-kept and inviting outdoor environments that meet the needs of residents and enhance the quality of life in Umeå. You and your closest colleague, the Operations Area Manager for Streets, work closely together and collaborate a lot between your work groups in staff planning over the season, work environment work and strategic development. The group is divided into teams and works area-wise and seasonally. Some form of contingency may occur. Together with other managers and colleagues, you will ensure the efficient and sustainable operation and development of the municipality's parks and residential nature. In this role you will be responsible for: Managing and organizing the operations staff for the parks department, consisting of approximately 20 employees and up to 10 seasonal workers Personnel planning, work environment management and strategic development together with the operational area manager for streets Budgetary and financial responsibility for the operational area Liaison with other units, external contractors and stakeholders to ensure efficient and sustainable operations Ongoing dialog and training with contractors to ensure quality and compliance with contracts The work is varied and gives you the opportunity to both develop the business and work with concrete measures that make a difference for Umeå's residents. About you We are looking for you who are a responsive and present leader with a genuine commitment to creating value for Umeå's residents together with the employees. You have previous experience as a manager or perhaps as a supervisor, project manager or equivalent, preferably in park management, construction or similar activities. A B driving license is a requirement. It is an advantage if you have a relevant education, for example as a garden engineer and experience from the green sector.
