The Individual and Family Care (IFO) in Umeå municipality wants to be a resource that frees and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life in proximity and interaction. The Center against Violence (CMV) is run in collaboration between Umeå municipality and Region Västerbotten. CMV offers support to people who live or have lived in relationships where there is physical, psychological or sexual violence. CMV offers support measures with different focuses such as honor violence/honor, a clinic for victims of violence and one for perpetrators of violence, support for those who want to stop buying sex (KAST clinic), support for those who have experience of sex for payment, harming themselves with sex and/or being subjected to human trafficking (MIKA clinic) and support for children who have experienced violence. The family counseling service is a statutory service that offers process-oriented and therapeutic or advisory counseling support, depending on the request. The service is primarily aimed at adults in relationships where there are problems of some kind in the relationship. You can come to the family counseling yourself, but it is the relationship that is in focus. We are now looking for a unit manager responsible for the activities within CMV and family counseling. Your work tasks As Head of Unit, you will lead the CMV and Family Counseling staff, which consists of about 17 employees, divided between Family Counseling and CMV, where you are responsible for staff, work environment, finances, quality, follow-up and development. You are responsible for ensuring that the objectives of the activities are achieved and that interventions and support for the activities' target groups are carried out in accordance with current legislation and good quality. The focus of the activities right now is to participate in the transition to the new Social Services Act, which will come into force in 2025, in collaboration with other provider activities within IFO and activities that exercise authority. In the spring of 2025, a review of CMV will be carried out and you will have an important role in that work. You are also expected to lead the activities in the continued development towards a knowledge-based social service that offers interventions, support and advice based on the best available knowledge. You will be part of a management group with 8 other heads of unit and the group is led by a deputy head of operations. About you We are looking for you who have a social worker degree or other equivalent education that is considered relevant by the employer. We believe that you have experience as a manager. If you have not worked as a manager with staff responsibility, you need to have led/coordinated colleagues in processes/change work in some other way. You need to have knowledge of and experience in the field of domestic violence, preferably from the social services' exercise of authority and/or provider activities. If you also have experience of working with family counseling, it is positive. We believe that you have experience of collaboration between authorities and enforcement within the social services and of collaboration between different agencies and authorities internally and externally. It is important that you as a unit manager have a focus on employees and users. As a leader, you are close to the business, but the assignment also requires an ability to lift your gaze and see the big picture. We are looking for people with integrity who dare to challenge and develop themselves and their surroundings. You are open to change and have a solution-focused approach. The assignment requires good teamwork and collaboration with many different agencies internally and externally, which requires an ability to create and maintain good relationships. To succeed in the role, you need to be able to prioritize and plan even when the pace is high. You are unpretentious and have a good ability to handle conflicts and unforeseen events of a demanding nature in a good way and with high integrity.
