The urban planning administration in Umeå municipality consists of Environmental and Health Protection, Building Permits, Detailed Planning and Surveying. Your tasks The assignment includes responsibility and development linked to staff, budget, work environment and other operational issues. As of 2025, the Environmental Development unit will have approximately 15 employees (strategists, energy advisors, nature conservationists and environmental inspectors). The operational responsibility for the Environmental Development unit includes assignments in the environmental, nature and climate area such as environmental assessments in physical planning, energy and climate advice, environmental monitoring, climate projects, nature conservation, action programs and ambient noise, as well as some supervision under the Environmental Code linked to water. About you We are looking for you who have a relevant academic education with several years of experience in the field. Previous experience of leadership and work with larger projects with external funding are merited. As a person, you are driven, clear, goal-oriented, and committed. You are confident, responsive and well acquainted with a trust-based and coaching leadership. You are communicative and easy to collaborate with, while you have the ability to make decisions and are results-oriented. You have the ability to think strategically in order to see the bigger picture. As a manager in Umeå municipality, we want you to represent the municipality in a trustworthy and positive way.
