The Recreation Department manages and operates sports and leisure facilities, leisure, excursion and recreation areas, recreational boating facilities. Leisure implements initiatives in recreational fishing and outdoor life as well as youth and leisure center activities. Leisure is also a contact and a support between the municipality and the organized association life. The leisure administration is divided into four different departments: Leisure Operations, Leisure Youth, Associations Office and Leisure Swimming. The Swimming Department is responsible for the operation of Umeå municipality's temperate swimming pools, which means Navet, Storsjöhallen/Aquarena, Sävar swimming hall, Vallabadet in Hörnefors and Hemgårdens bad, as well as three temperate outdoor pools Umelagun, Obbolabadet and Vallabadet. We also provide swimming lessons for primary school pupils and offer health care to our citizens. Your tasks As an operations technician with us, you work to ensure a safe and secure stay for those who visit and work at the bathing facility. Basic tasks are care and maintenance of water treatment, operational monitoring, sampling, analysis and documentation. You will carry out inspection and maintenance of technical installations and preventive maintenance work. The tasks also involve troubleshooting and repairs. As a senior operations technician, you will be involved in the planning, development and coordination of the operations area of the department. You will manage and coordinate the team of operational technicians at the Hub. You support the other operational technicians in the department and coordinate their work. Inventory and planning of actions in consultation with the manager. You are part of a cross-departmental team that is jointly responsible for the operation of our swimming facilities, but you are based at the Hub and are a natural part of the work group and the community we have there. About you We are looking for you who have a relevant education in the field. Perhaps you have a university degree as a civil engineer specializing in mechanical or energy engineering or a vocational college degree in operations or real estate. Alternatively, you have several years of relevant work experience in the field that is considered equivalent. We also expect you to have good knowledge of control systems and good computer skills. In this position, it is an advantage if you have training in plumbing, knowledge of heating and ventilation and/or general electrical qualifications. Experience and/or training in leadership is also an advantage. Personal qualities that we value in this position include good leadership skills, teamwork and problem-solving skills. You have a strong safety mindset and understand the importance of working in a structured way and according to our procedures. As you will have a lot of customer contact, we would like you to have good communication skills and be service-oriented. We sometimes work at a fast pace, so we expect you to be adaptable and able to work under pressure. The position requires you to have good knowledge of Swedish and English in both speech and writing to handle instructions and manuals. German is an advantage.
